In today's competitive economic environment it is tempting to question paying for a "system". Why pay for software and hardware when you can just buy some lift boxes, a sled, and a jamar dynamometer and make up your own FCE? There are many good reasons to invest in a "System", especially the Blankenship FCE System.

1. Legal Standards: Years ago, FCE results were accepted based on "Guru" status, now the courts require evidence based testing. Additionally, for an evaluator's testimony to be accepted, that evaluator has to be deemed an "expert" by the courts. Having certification training qualifies you as an expert, lending more weight to your testimony. In todays environment it is common that a patient will undergo two different FCEs which can render two different functional outcomes. The courts then must decide which functional outcome to accept. NO OTHER SYSTEM has the research that the Blankenship FCE System has identifying the functional data as being a true picture of the patient's abilities or not (AMA Guides to the Evaluation of Functional Ability, 2009 and JOSPT "Sensitivity and Specificity of the Blankenship FCE System's Indicators of Submaximal Effort", 2007.)

2. Reproducibility: If you have multiple locations or multiple FCE evaluators, the software provides a consistent and reproducible platform for testing function. Your referral sources can rely on a consistent report and testing platform every time.

3. Ease of training: The software and certification course allows you to make a hardware investment that you know will be utilized for years to come. Therapists come and go, but with standardized certification training and software, you can be confident that your referral sources will never notice evaluator transitions.

4. Mounting Research: The vast majority of "home grown" FCE systems are based on the Kinesiophysical Philosophy. Mounting research demonstrates the underlying construct of the Kinesiophysical approach is flawed, undermining the weight of functional data collected using this method. The Blankenship FCE System is based on Psychophysical Approach with a strong Behavioral Component endorsed by the American Medical Association.

5. Relative Value: Comparing the cost of a Blankenship FCE System package to Ergos or BTE demonstrates extraordinary value.

Systems

Myorom

The Myorom system provides a system interface that allows the digital collection of grip strength, spinal inclinometry, static strength, myotest, and digital tenderness mapping.

Myorom

$10 300

System Interface

The system interface provides the digital data collection of heart rate, grip and pinch strength, spinal inclinometry, static strength, digital tenderness mapping, and myotesting.

System Interface

$ 13 200

AcuLift

AcuLift is the only true isoinertial functional testing system on the market. It combines real time video with force plates in the handles of the lift box to provide a time force curve (that includes g-force data) of the lift. The Aculift system can identify when true musculoskeletal overload begins or if effort, pain, or fear/anxiety is affecting the lift.

AcuLift

$14 700

Premier System

The Premier System includes the System Interface, AcuLift, and all other components necessary for completing an FCE. (Static Testing Platform, Push/Pull Sled, Assorted Lift boxes, 150 Lbs. of plate weights, Lifting Platform)

Premier System

$39 800

Software Packages

FCE Soft

The FCE Soft Report represents a complete set of printed reports from the FCE Soft and FCE Softlink software. The report is divided into sections. You may print any portion of the report that is required. Generally, the various sections of the FCE Soft report are intended for the different purposes outlined below. Cover Letter: This is usually all that the referring physician or insurance company require. The Cover Letter should contain a summary statement about the test results which are particularly germane to the patient's ability to work. FCE Form: The FCE Form is a single page report form, which documents the patient's ability to work. The FCE Form is the single most important part of the FCE report, which reflects the amount of work the patient is capable of doing at the present time. All of the definitions used by the Quest TBS FCE process are contained at the bottom of the FCE Form for reference by those who are viewing this form. Detailed Narrative Form: This is a long and detailed section which describes the test protocols, results, gives the rational for certain decisions, provides references to the published literatures, lists the raw test data, and provides a summary statement which interprets the test results. Referring physicians are usually not interested in this section because of its length and detail. The Detailed Narrative Report was designed for Rehabilitation Specialists who are frequently interested in the details of the evaluation or Insurance Adjusters who want justification of the charges, and Attorneys who are detail oriented. Graphic Summary: This section contains graphic printouts of all the tests performed during the FCE. The user can control the type and number of printouts generated. This section is almost entirely for legal purposes or to demonstrate to the Rehabilitation Specialist or Insurance Claims Adjuster that a significant amount of testing was performed.

DOTSoft

DOTSoft is a must for any Industrial Rehabilitation program. You can search and print a DOT Job Description in 1-2 minutes, and you can do this while you are interviewing the patient so the results can be discussed with them.

Digital Source for over 12 700 Job Titles

DOTSoft provides digital access to over 12 700 Job Titles and 21 300 Alternate Job Titles from the DOT Manual (US Department of Labor).

DOT, SOC, and GOE Codes

DOTSoft also provides the DOT (Dictionary of Occupational Title), SOC (Standard Occupational Classification), and GOE (Guide for Occupational Exploration) code numbers, the Physical Demand Classification and a host of other data, much of which is not supplied by the DOT Manual.

Seamless Integration

FCESoft, JobTask FCE, and DOTSoft are all seamlessly integrated, allowing you to make your time more productive and profitable. All the information you need is within one software system.

Help Screen

Help Screens and a 60 page online Manual of Definitions are provided.

DOTSoft

DOTSoft is a digital file containing information similar to the Dictionary of Occupational Titles. It is searchable and outlines the general Physical Demands and Physical Demand Level associated with thousands of Occupations.

MyoTest

The MyoTest is the most popular and easy to use muscle testing software on the market today. It offers pre-set musculoskeletal testing protocols, as well as offers the capability to customize or design your own tests. Performing Dynametric muscle testing with MyoTest provides an ideal adjunct to Functional Capacity Evaluations and musculoskeletal evaluations.

Automatic Data Input

Allows for keyboard input, direct computerized interface from the TBS System, MyoROM System, or ergoFET-500 Force Gauge.

Instantly Displays Information

Instantly displays the test results so decisions can be made during testing.

Auto-Calculates Validity and Right to Left Strength Deficits

Calculates test, re-test validity and right to left strength deficits in real time for immediate comparison.

Time Force Curve

Displays a Time-Force curve when used with any of the TBS Interfaces or ergo-FET500 Force Gauge for feedback on patient's effort and the evaluator's technique.

Used Alone or as part of FCESoft

MyoTest can be used alone during regular evaluations or as serial testing during Work Conditioning or it can be used as an integrated component of the FCESoft module.

Digital Tenderness Mapping (DTMSoft)

The DTMSoft is for Digital Tenderness Mapping, or algometry. It makes palpation for tenderness objective by validating organic and non-organic pain patterns of patients. DTMSoft allows you to palpate as fast as you wish, and accurately identifies four levels of tenderness that is then presented in graphic format for easier interpretation.

Pocket FCE

The Pocket FCE is an unique and copyrighted feature of the Quest TBS FCE, and is completed automatically by FCESoft. It is the patient's full FCE Form on the front and back of a credit card sized form, ready for laminating. The Material Handling Ability is on one side, the Non Material Handling is on the other side. The Pocket FCE gives Physicians, Case Managers and Employers the confidence that the injured worker has a mechanism to refer to help prevent a re-injury, prevent misunderstanding of restrictions, and to help the worker stay within their safe work ability. The Pocket FCE helps separate your FCE form from all others. It is highly appreciated by Doctors, Case Managers, and Employers.
